GDPR comes into law on 25th May 2018
The changes will effect all businesses in Europe, and companies who wish to trade in Europe.
The obligations for these new laws will require businesses to look at the way they deal with cyber threats, risks, data breach management, secure design infrastructure, secure design and secure by default principles, privacy compliance and the legal spectrum of the GDPR.
As a data processor, rest assured your data is safe with us! We are well on the way to becoming fully compliant by the 25th May deadline.

So what is a DDOS attack:
A Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack is an attempt to make an online service unavailable by overwhelming it with traffic from multiple sources.
They target a wide variety of important resources, from banks to news websites, and present a major challenge to making sure people can publish and access important information.

On April 8, 2014 we finally said goodbye to Windows XP. It took Microsoft a while but they got there with a solid and reliable platform that we all knew as Windows XP. Over a decade later it is now time to upgrade to one of the two Windows alternatives, Windows 7 or Windows 8.
Over the summer period JSL Computers upgraded many of our schools and businesses to the new platforms and they all settled in with very few issues. From single machines to complete server based networks our customers are now on the faster and more secure operating systems. For the more budget conscious we offer our customers fully refurbished machines running the 64 bit version of Windows 7.
On our travels we still see plenty of businesses out there still running Windows XP and with no updates now available this must be seen as a network security risk. As ever we are still running our FREE network health check to all. We would also like to welcome all our new ICT support for schools customers as well as our new businesses and we look forward to long and happy relationships with you all.
